I'm on a mission to help teachers ditch the painful “go off and write” approach. To instead, focus on teaching writing slowly, in a developmentally appropriate way.
I started creating my own writing resources because the ones I was given simply did not make sense, nor were they developmentally appropriate. My students were frustrated (and I was too) with the lack of structure in our writing block. So I went back to the basics, and now I explicitly model how to draw and create a complete sentence.
